did my usual for a number I don t know, answered phone, but kept quiet, waited for the other end to say something. as usual, a couple of seconds and the machine at the other end hung up.

SCAM - Threatened to terminate National Insurance after speaking a load of so called legal jargon. DO NOT ANSWER
SCAM, very clever scam claiming to be from Barclays mobile banking, they send you a sms message first informing you that a new device has been registered to your mobile banking app. They request you to call the number quoting a code they sent, when you call the number, they already have your name and welcome you by your name. They then request you to log in to your banking app and generate a code. (The one I gave them was NICE TRY A-HOLE) the person said thanks and hung up. Be very careful

Called wanting to talk to me about an accident that wasn t my fault but didn t know my name - hung up when I asked what date this accident was supposed to have happened.

SCAM - says there is a tax fraud registered in my name and I need to press 1 - ended call immediately. Anything relating to tax would not be relayed across a phone call - HMRC would contact you via the post.

Mr Peter Johnson (Foreign Accent) Rang me and told me that my internet connection was slow. If i logged onto a site it could help speed it up. He was from BT Techical Help. The caller had a very thick south Asian accent and claimed to be from "my network" - I didn't catch which one - and that I could benefit from an "offer". I cut the call and blocked the number.
