I have a Sky and 02 contract, different phones. I had a call from this number purporting to be 02 on my Sky phone; took me a while to realise! SCAM sounded like a genuine call from Virgin Media about internet problems. Said their server had been receiving errors from my hub. Suspicious when they started asking me what apps I ran on my phone. Even more suspicious when they wanted me to download remote control software so they 'could show me the problem ' Noticeable change in tone when I said I was an IT professional. Hung up the phone and called Virgin who confirmed they'd never ask someone to download software.

Automated voice says this is a bank alert, there have been two charges on your card , it then gives the details of the ‘transactions’ one supposedly for £200+ on Amazon, the other a bank transfer for over £1000. Claiming to be Currys PC World. I have no idea if they are or not but the call started of silent while the auto dialer connected. When I asked them how could I be sure it was Currys they just kept repeating they were from Currys. They hung up in the end.
