They are scammers pretending to be Virgin media. They claim that your internet box has been compromised because of suspect malware and then pretend that they want to compensate you by putting money into your bank account, but really they try and take money out of your account. They are Asians and the number emanates from Orpington Kent.

I just got a call claiming (falsely) to be from this number, claiming (again falsely) that it was BT Openreach (or something). Well this was interesting! 028 4067 1515 (Banbury) just rang, it is Saturday at 10:55am. I did a quick google while the phone was ringing and came up with the Anglers Rest pub in Banbridge. Weird (I have no connection to the area) but seemingly legit. When I picked up, the caller said he was calling from Currys/PCWorld with a cheap mobile phone offer. I said I don't need a new phone and he said thanks and ended the call. The whole "using a legit number" is hella sneaky!!

I answered a call from this number, and heard a male at the other end of the line with the sound of other people in the room. He didn’t answer immediately, and after a short while asked if I could hear him, to which I, possibly foolishly replied “Yeah, yeah”. The phone was not put down at his end, but there was no reply when I tried to communicate at which point I ended the call.

I received a phone call from +44 20 8097 5643 claiming I recently responded to a social media ad (I didn't). The scam company is 'Apollo.Expect' their website is https://apollo.expert/ and the caller claimed they were based in oxford and major cities across Europe. Cold call offering to reduce my vodaphone payments but not from vodaphone itself apparently we’re supplied with number from who I could not ascertain when I refused to disclose my current payment and asked them to make me an offer they closed the call. Someone with a very heavy Indian accent called my mobile today offering me a free phone if I would give him my post code and details, he would then bring it round to me, he also said he was calling me because his system said I was poor and earned less than £3000 a month, I told him his information was wrong and that he was a scammer and should do better with his life, even after all that he still kept asking me for my details, I kept him on the phone for over 10 minutes.
No one there, said hello a few times but no one spoke then they hung up.
