Within 2 hours of registering new business phone number, I'm getting called by this number. They are 100% sourcing phone numbers from business directories such as 118, etc.

SCAM - On answer a strident recorded message tells you that "A criminal tax fraud case has been lodged against you". I didn't bother listening to the full message - I heard enough to know it was a pathetic criminal trying to scare people into handing them either personal data or money. Called yesterday (12 Nov) at 18:46 and drivelled on about the PPI you were sold. Obviously a bunch of spivs as I don t do PPI as I don t take out loans or use credit cards. Attempted to make a complaint to the TPS and their website says "noting to do with us try the information commissioner". Who is paying for the TPS and why? They seem to be a waste of space.
I have had this number call me about once a day for the last couple of weeks. Each time I answer the line goes dead. I m assuming its an auto dialer and there s no agent available to take my call when the line connects. I have now barred them on my phone. Time wasters.

I checked with Virgin after readin Peters comments and they told me it was not a premium rate call .. it was a local rate .. I had a county court bailiff attend my premises and this telephone number was also on the paperwork I was given !! :(

SPAM - Rude and aggressive man on the phone. Tried selling me electric for a unit we'd just moved into. When I told him I'd sorted it myself directly he tried to say I was paying over the odds. When I told him I definitely wasn't he shouted down the phone at me and hung up... if they're going to try and sell you something you don't need then at least make them friendly!
