Sometimes there’s silence, other times a heavily accented Asian man from (always incoherent bank name/financial services) mispronunces our name and insists my spouse left information online requesting information. They get quite aggressive when you deny this and/or don’t wish their calls to continue.

21 After attempting to make an online payment on a Halifax credit card while in the Philippines, the transaction was declined even before the bank's usual verification SMS message. To cut a long story short enough to fit the character liimit, this is not the Halifax, despite websites that say it is. The website I tried to pay was hacked and my payment was intercepted even before the bank could be contacted. THE SOPHISTICATION OF SCAMMERS IS NOW AT AN EPIDEMIC LEVEL. Don't be fooled.
