AO aggressive aftersales, using a no-doubt masked number. Female caller asked me to confirm my personal details - I refused given they had called me! I was called by this number on 16/2/23 at 10.13am. The caller claimed to be from my broadband supplier and said there were problems with my broadband. I said I had no problems and didn’t understand how they could try to con people in this way. Same number called me again at 11.48am, 12.16, and 13.22. These were silent calls. Clearly I annoyed them, but I’m fed up with these calls. How do they know who my broadband provider is ?

Call claimed to be from Vodafone retentions department promising me a 40% discount, asked me a bunch of security questions and then asked me to read him the code from a password reset email that he had triggered on my Vodafone account. This apparently would enable him to send me the priority app so I could access 5G calls and VIP features. Alarm bells at this point. I said I'd call him back then checked with Vodafone. They confirmed that this is not a number they use and not to give out any information. SC
