This is because your insurer has sold on your contact details to this third party who will try to get you to make accident claims for a cut of the payout. Spam and potentially dangerous. Caller kept saying it was about life insurance, demanding to speak to my partner, but he hung up when i asked him to identify which company he worked for.
Saying he was from Virgin Media and wanted me to login from my computer to check the router. I just ended the call. He didn't even know my name, account number or anything. I just put the phone down. Could be dangerous!
