I have no idea what this call was about. To-date (in the 27 years I have had this number) I have never had a 'wrong number' type of call, as far as I am aware it is not similar to any local business/official numbers!

Man with a thick Indian accent rang claiming to be from BT ringing about the internet slowing down at the house. He had my name and address and postcode. When I asked what my account number was he reeled off a number (which later check was wrong). I said I’d call by back and he gave me an 0333 number saying it was BT customer service. Rubbish! I had a call from this number this morning at 10.49 (approx) and a recorded message came which told me that my Visa card had been used by someone for £900. I didn't bother to listen to the whole message as it was obvious to me that it was a scam. Interestingly I waited a few minutes and then called the number back (which I don't usually bother to do) and a very nice lady answered who said that she ran a clinic. It became obvious that she was genuine and that the scammers had used her number.

I was reciving calls from this number and was confused when i saw it was a london chippy. I phoned them and spoke to them apparently someone is using their number to phone people they don't phone people themselves. If you receive a call from this number it is not the chippy staff calling you so be aware.
