The caller with a strong foreign accent (possibly Indian) stated he was calling from BT Openreach about potential problem with my internet connection. So I thanked him for calling and hung up, as it sounded like it might be an all too frequent scam call.
Telesales, rude, knew my name and address, told them to remove my number and reported them.

He wanted me to switch on computers and check broadband speed etc. Of course I did not comply and hung up. Said they were Mcafee support, handling issue relating to our home "network" which would mean all devices using network (he meant router) would shortly become infected and stop working. Wanted £200 to fix, as our Mcafee didn't cover "network". Said we'd call back and given this number. Subsequently checked with Currys who support some of our tech who confirmed it's a scam

Automated woman's voice leaving message on answerphone saying that there have been 2 charges on credit card, £300 for Amazon and £1100 for another service. After investigation no such charges appeared. This is a unsolicited call and scam. Beware and block this number.
