I was called by this number at 08:18 this morning by someone claiming to be "Amazon Prime" (recorded message) and invited to be transferred to cancel a subscription ('press 1'). The person then asked for my details and, when questioned, told me that it is not possible to contact Amazon directly or my bank over this. The conversation stank so I discontinued the call.

Tried to get my address details claiming that it was all part of 'data protection' - when I said 'heck no - I'm not giving you any details' then they doubled down on the the claim that they were operating on behalf of my estate. Call about a motor vehicle accident I had and said I had a compensation payment waiting for me - they would not give more details or say who they were acting on behalf of.

I haven't sent any emails or got any appointments. It must be a scam but I've no idea what he planned to get out of it, maybe if the story fitted my circumstances he'd try to get a cancellation fee off of me. The worrying thing is that he knew my full name. I can't think of any way that could happen.
