I was asked about my pension history and whether I had a PIP. If I did the government have announced that I should be able to reclaim over-charging, particularly if my pension pot was more than £10,000. I asked for details of their website and she gave me theirs where there is no reference to this. Also mention gov.co.uk (which is obviously gov.uk) and I can find no reference to what she said. Also nothing on Moneysaving Expert, my go-to place for this type of thing.

When I asked what this was he quoted "888DCA....." which is NOT a machine ID, it is a standard Microsoft code related to zip-files, which I told him. The call was terminated immediately...!
