They were pretending to be BT Openreach. Noise in the background and English speaking was poor. Tried to tell me my internet was poor and we’re about to get into asking for my details. I blocked the number.

01482 293843 called me several times. I called back and got an automated message saying welcome to Vodafone all of our operators are busy right now please hold blah blah blah... I hung up. My broadband contract has just ended with Vodafone and I already renewed it with them on a social tariff. Maybe the call was connected to that. I saved the number to contacts so the name will come up if they call again and I'll answer it to find out. Like many I don't answer withheld numbers or numbers I don't recognise.

The case has been reported to the police and would be brought before a magistrate. "Press 1 to speak to a HMRC agent", Obviously I didn't. This country has some of the most advanced telecomms technology in the world. WHY can't the authoriries (Police, BT, the Regulator) take down these numbers?

Sales call / this is a call from SD of Verkada Limited - a tech company selling security cameras etc. It will likely be related to an email whereby it is suggested he will be "in your area" next week. Of course he doesn't know where you are and in the absence of matter-transportation will not be there. It's an unsolicited sales call and not very clever. Best avoid firms like this where they start with a lie.

This number has rang three times in an hour and half tonight. It cuts off as soon as you answer. I have looked it up on these sort of websites and it either comes up as a parcel force scam or BT text messaging. 01997 617229 called me around 4:30PM on 21 March 2023. A guy with an Indian accept was speaking, but hung-up after about 5 seconds. If you call back, it says "welcome to Farn Mart", but none of the options in the menu connect you to anyone.

I've got the call. When I picked up, some guy was laughing. Later a guy mentioned he was from my O2 provider company. I am not currently under contract with the O2. Then he laughed and hung up. I wasn't sure if this call was from a house with joking kids or if this was a real company. If that is a company, they have to have more attention to training their people to behave.
