23 Nov 2021 - Silence at first, then a click and background call centre noise. An Asian person then said "Hello Maam, it's "Jacks from Carphone Warehouse. How are you today?" this number rings us daily, every time you answer theres silence then a loud "BEEAAARR" sound and the line goes dead. we are in dorking and 01306 is our local code, presume some spammer/scammer/marketer spoofing the number, or calling from a VOIP number, hoping we d be more likely to answer a local code call. Time wasters, never a human there, what is the point of these calls? June 2016.

Legit. Checks out with what is listed on the HSBC UK website. Though the call quality was very bad. Also, you know it's a genuine bureaucratic banking process when they ask for 10 different details to confirm your identity. I swear the support lady could just identify theft the hell out of me at this point.

SCAM - automated message claiming to be HMRC - you are a subject to a HMRC Investigation with arrest warrant being issued etc etc.. well known scam - if you call the number they will ask you to pay a nominal amount to clear the debt.. just ignore - the REAL HMRC will send you a brown envelope or send you a message via your Self Assessment portal, they will never call you cold

Rings my mobile between 4 and 6 times a day 7 days a week they have done this now for 3 months very annoying.
It is LBM in Altrinchm, they re out-sourced by 02. They call anyone who applies for an 02 Pay as You Go sim card to see if they can offer you a SIM only plan or Mobile Phone Contract, take you through credit checking then take card details if you are successful. They are not 02 but do either represent or work on behalf of 02. If they say they are passing you through to a manager its really just a sale guy who is good at objection handling who will try and close the sale : )

SCAM Persistent automated calls claiming to be from 'your internet provider' (immediately an obvious scam as your own internet provider would identify themselves!) then threatens disconnection due to illegal activity on the account. Presume will then attempt to extort money, but don't listen to call beyond the first bit.
Asked for me by name. I refused to confirm my name until they told me who they were so the male caller with an Indian accent called me a “son of a bitch” then hung up.
