Rang claiming to be from Microsoft. Claimed there s a virus on my computer, and asked me to do stuff to rectify it. This is a social engineering thing, trying to get you to install malware and viruses. Don t follow their instructions!

Was called by this company re a minor RTA I had a few months ago and was told there was a pot of money waiting for me if I proceeded with a personal injury claim. I told him it had all been dealt with and I was satisfied but he did not want to take no for an answer and persisted in telling me I would be foolish not to make a claim. Got a missed call from this number today, thought it may be a friend in the UK but when i rang back it said it was out of service. Anyone know how this is possible? And what is it all about?

This number called and as I didn’t answer, they could have left a message. They didn’t, so I assume it was a cold call.

Was called on work phone and asked to participate in survey. As not catching it the first time, I repeatedly asked the girl who she was working for, but she only repeated her own name. Very likely she said David Knox.

Got a missed call while at work so not sure what company is but this is a new number so not sure how they have got it already!!

Usual line about my supposedly having an accident recently. Told her to get off my phone or be reported for harrassment. Cut her off.

Got a couple of calls selling warranty First call said I had a Bosh washing machine, I said I was busy. The next day another call saying I had a Samsung. They tried to convince me of their glowing credentials, that they ve been operating for 10years. Got transfered to a manager which I asked again if I could check on Companies House website for Applianceserve Ltd Company number 08957597 and they promptly hung up on me. Unfortunately all appears to be a lie unless the goverment website is a lie...?
