"Orlando" called from "You Compare" requesting to speak to Mr [Mobile Phone Owners Surname" regarding life insurance policy which they are reviewing (I don t have a life insurance policy). Advised that he is based in Dakar, Bangladesh and that they use an automatic dialler with my telephone number being obtained from an opt-in database. I have had numerous calls from this person/company over the last few days. When I answer, they put the phone down, they never leave a message and when I called them back, I got an annoying automated message of the person on extension ..... (Some long random number) is not available. I have rated them untrustworthy as I find this very odd. What kind of reputable company doesn t have a voicemail message FIRST stating the company name? Great! getting calls now from the Russian Federation. Pity I don't know anyone there. These calls are annoying, especially when they call they leave no voice or text message. One of these reverse look up sites has identified the source as a Vodafone number from the UK. Who do you believe?

Just had a call for this number - an automated message saying it was from HMRC and my name was linked to fraud. I had to press 1 to be connected to an advisor. Failure to do so would mean I would be arrested.....I'll take that risk.

Had a voicemail from this no. (very scripted). Northern Gas & Power trying to sell energy. I don't think it's a scam (and if legit their reviews on trustpilot seem reasonable). That said it was an unsolicited sales call, and I don't look after the gas and electricity anyway!
NEVER call these numbers back. They are spoofed by the scammers and are not calls from the UK. If you call them back, you may get caught for a large call charge.
