SCAM There was a short pause after I picked up the telephone, with a lot of background noise, such as you might get from someone in a crowded bar, not what I'd expect from a legitimate outfit. The person who spoke had a thick accent so I initially thought it might be from an overseas call centre. The person who spoke said they were from British Telecom, so I told them where to go and hung up.

Whenever you ask to have your data deleted, the phone call terminates - or at least that was my experience from this number, and about 30 calls from other numbers also claiming to be Carphone Warehouse.

Asian sounding man named Eric, can’t say my name correctly. The call was delayed when I answered before clicking then the caller spoke, so I guessed it was going to be a nuisance call. Eric said he had some questions to ask, I ended the call.
I have been receiving call from this company for six months since donating to Unicef. Only yesterday I renewed my donations. Having read about this unauthorised use of my phone number I will cancel my Unicef subscription and tell them why.
