Callers were notifying me of a card fraud but no personal details were given by them to identify themselves.
Scottish Gas... I had phoned them to discuss options for an outstanding bill I had. This is the number they used when they gave me a call back.

Telemarketer called and tried to sound like an independent insurance reviewer who wanted to make sure my life insurance doesnt lapse due to new legislation I tried to explicitly ask if they were a government body or private organisation and instead of giving me a clear answer he proceeded to say they are not trying to sell me anything and they work with all insurers and asked whether i had life insurance I asked for their website and was given httpwwwsearchlivecom basic webpage clearly spam

Fraud suspected,claims to be Virgin Media, did not try to verify any personal details or account details. Wants the IP address that they are supplying to me, at which point I ended call. Another damn nuisance call. Some recorded woman's voice trying to convince me there are two fraudulent transactions on my bank account, press number one to get details etc. As it happened, I'd just been checking my bank account online, but I wouldn't have believed her anyway, as that's not the way my bank would contact me. This pathetic scam originated from a number in Knighton, a small town in Powys about ten miles from my house. Whoever you are, try and get a life!

Got me to look up internet speed. Gave them fake results, which would have been top drawer, to be told they were not good Passed me to another technician to get me to open windows run and enter 'www.anydesk.com'. That scam has been doing the rounds for years. Told them I worked in IT, and they hung up!
