Received a call from this number very noisy background, asked if I had claimed my PPI refund which on average would be about £2200. I told the caller I did not have this insurance she said I didn't understand, I would have had it as the Banks hid the protection. I told her that it must have been detailed in paperwork for it to have been charged again she told me it wouldn't as it was hidden. Said he was calling from "Credit Investigation Department" and that his records show I was currently paying off debts in my name (false). Told him to politely bugger off and remove my number from whatever database he was using. Complained to TPS.

Supposed to be from Telephone Preference Service. Confirmed address which they knew, they then asked for the expiry date of "your VISA card" and passed me on to the "Chief Manager for TPS", he asked for some more details at which point I put the phone down. It rang several times, I ignored it.

Definitely, a scam. Told me that I had had an accident in the last two years and wanted my details.
This is aqua credit card. They called because I had attempted to make a large transaction. They asked me if I made that transaction and two other recent transactions. They knew who the transactions were with and for how much, and the caller addressed me by name. Basically, I’m convinced it was really them. To verify they were talking to me, I was asked for the first line of my address and postcode, my date of birth and the first two letters of my memorable information.
