I ve just had a call from this number (well spoken English male) offering me a nuisance calls device. I questioned him coming to the cost of the service he asked if I am over 65 and in this case it will be 2 pounds a year (!) for 3 years after which it will be free !!! I wanted him to speak to my husband but he was not available at the moment. He hung up.
Had a call about our washing machine warranty being out of date. He rang off when I asked a few questions about their company [difficult to hear what he said at this point] and how he came by his information. Usual garbage, but sounded British. This might be a follow up from a so-called survey I foolishly agreed to go through a few days ago - and during which I asked NOT to be contacted from, I assume, the people instigating it in the first place. This is the usual con merchant stuff we have to endure

It's a home appliance insurance scam. They called my elderly mother and tried to make her think it was her existing insurance company but it's actually a fak-ish looking company called J&L Home Assist. They tried to get my mum to hand over her bank details and persisted even when she said she wasn't comfortable doing that. A bit of investigation reveals that there are a number of similar fake companies doing the same thing, all claiming to be in the Bournemouth area.

Seem to have now blocked 0843 980 12xx where xx so far is anywhere between 01 to 51 - 47 just the latest. Last time i answered it from one of these numbers there was nobody there. Wonder if phone numbers of the call centre staff are also on their autocall list.

This is a "computer access" scam - American/foreign accent wanting direct access and saying your computer is causing problems - just tell them to **** *** and hang up!
