Called with an automated telephone message to tell me this was Her Majesty's Customs and Revenue and that there was fraud on my account. Dial a number to be put through. This is a work mobile which is only used for calling work.....there is no fraud on the account.....therefore I would say this is dangerous

Had a call from this number on my landline and mobile number. Message left saying card at risk of fraud. Checked my online account and no messages. Called the number on the back of my credit card and Barclaycard say they have no record of anyone contacting

Number called twice, purporting to be from Caernarfon. Hangs up on answering. In my experience this is an auto-dial check to make sure that a real person answers the number. I will no doubt be getting calls from the Indian subcontinent, with the caller using redirect software to make the call appear to be coming from the UK. SCAM I didn't recognise the number so didn't lift the handset. Half a message was left at 10.27 a.m. The beginning was missing, and the message went on, "However, your internet and 'phone connection will be getting disconnected if this won't be fixed. Press 1 to speak with our Executive and get it fixed." HOW DARE THEY? This is OUTRAGEOUS. I recognised it as a scam, but what about all the innocents out there who pressed 1?

Have just had a phone call from 01482 937415 with a recorded message in a female Amercan accent. Message as follows "This is a message from British Telecom to inform you that your internet connection will be cut off today. If you wish to keep your internet connection press 1. If you wish to be cut off press 2"

SMS. Presumably the replies on this forum saying it is ok are written by the fraudsters
