Automated call from “my internet service provider” stating that illegal activity has been detected on my account and my service would be disconnected within 24-48 hours….Then gave me a load of options…press 1, press 2…etc presumably to get me to speak to someone so that they could access money in some form or other. SCAM / SPAM - called purporting to be from BT Openreach about slow internet. I do currently have a case pending about slow net, so believed them at first. Got suspicious when they said they needed me to share my screen with them. When I asked them for a phone number to call them back on to check who they were they hung up. BEWARE.

Said they were telephone preference service that were signed up to. Knew name and address. Said bills were paid by direct debit, card ending in 17. I said my husband sorts it so I ve no idea. Then wanted me to get a statement. I said no. I asked if my husband could sort it online but she didn t understand and kept offering to phone back.
