Calling from a huge sales company that make calls from data spreadsheets. Mine was for insurance renewal purposes which is not sue for renewal.
Automated call Ostensibly from BT, saying suspicious (or similar!) activity on my phone and internet, so will be closing them down. Press 1 ........ etc ! This is the second scamming call within a few minutes, but the other was from a mobile pretending to be from Amazon. The scammers are really active today!

They phoned me saying they were from BT and trying to stop marketing calls (Like a kind of international Telephone Preference Service) and tried to get get my card details out of me. They read out my name and address to me then asked for the expiration date on my debit card so they could "verify" my details. I gave them a false one. They then asked for the "Reference" number of the card the big number along the top. I asked them to verify my BT account number (I m on Virgin Media) but they did nit see

I got a call from this number and they were obviously trying to get personal information from me. First they asked me to tell them who I was to confirm my identity (even though they claimed to know who I was because they were calling me!). Second they told me that I needed to complete a verification process online by going to a specific website on my computer. The page they told me to go to sounded like a scam and they were trying to get me to fill out more personal information.

SCAM This number preys on those in debt. If you are in debt, don't be fooled into thinking these people can help you. I have to UK based lenders that I am paying back and missed to payments due to being out of work during the pandemic. Why would my lenders send cold calls from Russia to collect payments when everyother person I have spoken to and all of the call centres have been based in the UK?
