In my case it genuinely was Sky calling to upgrade my TV package. I was dubious at first but he was able to confirm how long we have been a Sky customer, the amount we pay per month, which TV package we have and which TV reciever we currently use before I gave him any information. Called his bluff and told him I wasn't sure. He told me the exact numbers of years, months and days I'd been with Sky and listed the exact package I was on, but surely this info isn't too hard to come by. I wasn't going to be going through and giving any answers to security questions to somebody who called me!

I got a robotic call from HMRC claiming that I am guilty of tax fraud. On the HMRC website, this is listed as an example scam call.
A text message with a link, proportedly from a high street bank, stating that they were authorising a payment from my account, even though I don`t bank with them. Definitely dodgy, be wary of clicking the link!.
