Said they were from EE asking about how happy I am with my PAYG plan and handset and if they could improve it. Asked what handset I had and why I was content with my pack then let me go happily. Seems trustworthy and didn t ask for any other info.
It's some sort of debt company scam. Say they are not calling but they are because I have no debt and would never have approached them

After the usual delay, while the auto-dialer connected me to a scammer, I heard a voice with a foreign accent shouting "Phone! Phone!" Then some mumbled words in a foreign language and they hung up. I think they could do with some work on their phone script.

Asian male, claiming to be from claims direct, calling about a car accident about a year and a half ago. Could not give any details of vehicles allegedly involved or dates.

Call center. When asked who was calling, woman caller waded with pleasantries, ignoring my question. There was plenty of background voices indicating she was probably in a call centre. When asked a second time who was calling, line went dead.

Called my aging father and said they were calling about an existing insurance policy for kitchen appliances.. one that we had and it needed renewed. He holds another policy with a well known company and it wasn't them. They were insistent that he had to renew it and he eventually hung up on them.
I believe this is a scam they send me a text message saying this "To keep your giffgaff services running, sign in below and follow the steps immediately. https://ggteam.co". Could obviously tell since the link looks odd. Don't follow the link, nor reply to the text nor call them.

SCAM / SPAM - As others have said this is a scam recorded call claiming to be from HMRC.
Seems I have a arrest warrant out!
Fraud - this was an automated call supposedly from HMRC, which said that there was a tax fraud case in my name and unless I pressed 1 and speak to the officer overseeing the case. If I didn't, there would be a warrant issued and I would be arrested shortly. This is disgusting - what if it had gone to a vulnerable or confused person. It didn't mention my name, but if someone is frightened enough that will not register.
