I have had numerous calls from this person/company over the last few days. When I answer, they put the phone down, they never leave a message and when I called them back, I got an annoying automated message of the person on extension ..... (Some long random number) is not available. I have rated them untrustworthy as I find this very odd. What kind of reputable company doesn t have a voicemail message FIRST stating the company name? This company uses various combinations of telephone number. I just let the answer phone kick in. If I recognise the voice I then answer, can have 6 -10 of this type of call a day. I do 1471 and keep a note of all the numbers and then check them out on Google.

The first thing I say to any number that calls me and starts by stating my name and asking if it is me... "Who is calling?", no response.

My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. They estimate readings and send someone over to check for themselves. Southern Electric have made a note of this number. I advis

Been getting a few calls from this number over the last month, got fed up and answered, all I got was a robot voice saying goodbye before the call disconnected. Was pretty creepy and in general didn t appreciate all the attempts. From what I ve heard these guys are scam artists who atleast have access to vodaphone customer s information, though I m on orange, not the only one on this network to recieve a call from this number, so they most likely have access to their customer database aswell.
