When I questioned why they needed my data they stated that the number they called on (which appeared on my handset) if listed on the EE website under the security section. I hung up and checked. No such number on EE s website, so I call a contact I have at EE and she checked and stated the number is most definitely NOT EE and I should not treat the call as an EE authorised call. Unsolicited call. Rang andcwhen answered they hung up. Geographically number licated in the buxton, derbyshire area. Coukd not get any more info on the number. SPAM Claimed to be an eco energy company called Ecobase. Got rude when I politely asked them to remove me from their database
caller identified herself as Jennifer (Asian sounding voice) & said she was calling from BT & there was a problem with my computer & my service was about to be cut off. I was slightly concerned since I have a BT broadband account & was using my laptop at the time, but the tone of the call felt bogus so I hung up & checked number via Google.
