I have my own small business, which I had just (within 30 minutes) advertised on Gumtree. The woman tried to sell me the opportunity to bump up my website to the top of the Google listings. I had previously been advised never to agree to anything over the phone, not even to say the word "yes" at any point. Call from the above number asking for [name of person who works at our company], the caller claimed to be from a government taskforce collecting data on behalf of the government. Based upon the other comments left here, I very much doubt they are connected to the UK government. The caller was told that our number is TPS registered, but claimed that as they were not making a sales call this doesn't apply to them! Their number is now blocked, so they won't be bothering me again.
