i just received a phone call from 01616572740 with an automated voice telling me I was being investigated for tax fraud and if I didn't press "1" straight away I would be arrested.

I had a call from “John Martin” from BT technical support team. I didn’t know whether to believe him or not. He asked me to do a speed check on my router, which I did through Speedtest. He then asked me to enter a website in to my phone which I refused to do then he hung up on me. Suspicious.

Left voice mail claiming to be HMRC and that there was a warrant for my arrest unless I pressed 1 for a call back
SCAM. An Asian male called "Anthony" rang, apparently from "Homecare" regarding my expired washing machine warranty. Never had a washing machine warranty & never used Homecare so told him where to go.
