I answered, said Hello but no reply - said it again and after a couple of seconds the caller terminated their silent call

Fraud. Recorded American computer voice message stating that HM Inland Revenue had sent me an 'Official Letter' at which point I hung up.
call claiming to be from BT saying that my phone and internet was to be disconnected,some scam or other.
Automat
Keeps ringing, Silence when answered, Silence when answered have tried ringing them, they don’t answer.
Got home to find a recorded message the same as George (above) has reported. Talk of ?1000 and pension etc and press 5 or 9. I did not press anything and just deleted the message.

We don t have caller ID on our lilndane but it would be a nice added feature. I screen my calls on my mobile phone.I also wish I could talk to my family more often.

Oftel records show that numbers starting 028 1342 0xxx are free, and available for allocation. Therefore these callers are "spoofing" their number and are up to no good!
