Indian sounding chap rang saying he was calling on behalf of "Telephone Preference Management" and asked if I was receiving nuisance calls and if so they were going to upgrade my service so that I will not receive any nuisance calls for the rest of my life. He knew my name, wife's name, daughter's name, address, post code and that I was with BT. Well for a start I am not with BT and when he asked if I paid my telecoms bill by direct debit then it was time to politely tell him goodbye.

Claimed to be from TALKTALK technical dept, asking whether i had problems with internet. I'm aware of these scams so played along for a while and it was the usual thing; they get you to look up Windows Eventviewer , see the number of 'errors', say 'Oh my God', then tell you it can be fixed by doing what they say. They call me 3 times a day - I complained to TPS who immediately contacted them. They have continued calling. After 30 days if they are still calling, TPS will take action. I don't answer, it goes straight on to message taker but it's still a nuisance. I've phoned them twice today and been assured they will remove my number but it's continuing. One woman I spoke to said she knew it was illegal.
