01229836958 person wanted me to get on line to sort a fault on broadband. I said that I would have to talk to my boss DI Jones as this was a police station. Oddly, he stopped talking and rang off.
SCAM they want your sort code and bank account number to stop scam phone calls at a one off cost of £183:99, they call themselves DATA COMPLIANCE and give you a telephone number for Cardiff 0292 000 8716. They started getting very angry when i asked them to supply paperwork and she was shouting at me down the line....which was when i hung up.
This appears to be a spam number as claiming to provide HMRC TAX REFUND & asking you to verify your info at hm-revenue-taxrebate.com.

I receive calls from this number daily, two or three times a day at any time. I don t even remember when they started but it has got to the point now where I don t answer any calls on either my landline or mobile unless I know who is calling. I don t know who they are but assume if it was anyone or anything important they would leave a message.

I would assume they start charging you an extortionate fee if you press the number. Do not press. If HMRC want to get in touch with you, they will do it with a person on the phone, not an automated message.
