I made payment to these people too, for advertising in an upcoming event brochure of almost ?230, (I stupidly paid twice, as they rang back the next day and said the payment hadn t gone through, I did actually check with my bank, and there was nothing showing as having gone through the day before, but it did appear within a few days]. TAXES / HMRC - recorded message saying have hmrc tax fraud lodged against my name and to press 1 to be put through to officer assigned to my case. Didn't bother as had similar last year regarding supposed unpaid tax which freaked me out and I fell for it but eventually ignored the 2nd call. Have now blocked number. Glasgow area

Called about Facebook advertising twice in a week!
Call from agent for EE, which I managed to get them to verify as the number on my phone came up as possible fraud. My broadband/TV Box price has now been frozen by them for 18 next months, (EE previously sent me warning it would be going up at end of contract date) and a free upgrade to super-fast broadband, from fast. They were able to give me details about when my phone,that I also have with EE, was due for upgrade as verification that they were actually genuine, as I ve had callers before about phone

SCAM - stating arrest from HMRC if you don’t comply
Call centre - Answered this call from a "London based" number. Asian accented male voice, company name unrecognisable trying to sell monthly mobile phone deal. Suspect this is a Calcutta based operative going through a hub to look like a UK caller. Almost impossible to understand the badly fractured spoken English. Hung up because I said it was a rubbish deal.
