Not for the first time my mobile has been contacted today by a caller from this number. Fortunately I missed the call, but as I have elderly relatives who live in the States the fact that I receive an unexpected call with a US number is personally immediately stressful. I always fear one of my cousins will be phoning to say an aunt or uncle of mine has died! Why are western governments so useless at controlling these predatory scumbags? - Answers on a postcard....

Recorded message telling me that 70% of loans over a certain limit can be written off and inviting me to “press 5” for an information pack I have no idea how they obtained my number since I m NOT listed in the telephone directory.

"Technical fault with your BT hub. Please go to your computer so I can fix it for you". Said I was unable to do so at present. He asked "Are you disabled",replied "what a thing to ask"! said "I m in a meeting, not free at the moment" "What meeting". With that I got fed up with playing along and rang off.
This is Lee Longlands distribution warehouse. Menu front end but you can hold for the operator. I have used this number to make debit card payments safely.
Caller with an Asian accent said he was from o2 and I had been selected to have a 50% discount on my tariff. I have has these calls before and seemed to be an obvious scam, so I briefly went along… The caller said I would receive an email from o2 but first I would have to pass security and he would send me 2 links with questions. Told him he was a scammer and hung up. Reported call & number to the ICO
