SPAM A guy telling me my home appliances insurance had expired. I hung up.
Cold called my mobile and mentioned "my recent accident" which was on their file. As they had made this up I politely told the caller I was ending the call and rang off.
SCAM Automated call from "Amazon", confirming renewal of Amazon Prime for one year for £71 plus. Given options of "Press 1 for this, 2 for that." Of course I have not renewed an Amazon Prime membership - didn't have one to renew. I said nothing, pressed no buttons, and after about 30 seconds of silence the line dropped. It's likely they would have asked for my cc details so the could confirm/reverse the charge; I'll never know :-)

Second call within about an hour but from a different telephone number. A recorded female voice telling me that I d missed a call from my internet provider (not true) and t...
They called me and knew my name and address. Wanted to confirm this was me saying they wanted to send me a former for a tax over payment. They said they were HMRC and as they already had my detail and even pronounced my name right which surveys calls never do, I said send me the firm. Still not arrived. If HMRC it would come quickly and in their official brown envelop. Sceptical.
