Found a number of texts on my Talk talk mobile bill apparently sent to this number and each charged 50p. Whilst Talk talk say they have cancelled the charges they will not explain how they came to be there. Who is doing this scam and how?

I got a text from what looked like my bank (Santander), saying a lot of money was being taken from my account. It gave this number 03333443057 to call. I called, and they answered HSBC ! I said I thought I was calling Santander, they said I work for both banks (yeah, right!). I said let me have your name and department, I ll call my bank and ask to be put through to you, at which point they promptly hung up.
