SCAM / SPAM Phoned about a clam of an accident that I never had

Called with a "and how are you today" manner. Talked about BT and phone line and offered discount on phone and calls. Then started asking questions like . Christian name ? How long in house? How much is your line cost? What about your calls? When I said that I don't give information to unknown callers on the phone, got shirty, said they would write, and rang off. Sounds like a scam to me, but could be dangerous if it is actually one.
