Missed call, so i called back and it said the number is invalid.
Who can tell why they called?
The automated call says its from HMRC. It's designed to frighten you into selecting the option to be connected to a call centre. I didn't take it any further as it was clearly a very nasty, aggressive attempt to initiate a scam.

Claimed to be BT warning that internet was going to be cut off and to press key 1 to speak to someone. Didn?t because didn?t know what this would cost. Tried ringing the number and couldn?t connect.

Missed a few calls from these recently, mostly on purpose with me not choosing to answer. Very annoying they have got my phone number!
Caller who sounded Indian said she was from the telephone preference service and calling to say it had expired as - she was just getting to this - the bank card used had expired. She first asked how the telephone bill was paid. As the service is free I rang off.
