Text message from Barclays bank, (I should call them if I haven't set up a direct debit today for 560 pounds.) or so they say they are. I don't believe them as I don't have a Barclays account. So it must be scam / ****.

Phoned and said from BP Telephone but made it sound like BT. Offered 3 months free bills as long term customer but wanted first card and when I refused to give them our bank details for verification. Far too insistent to be from BT and kept pushing for either card or bank details. Although routed through London the call with time lapses was clearly from an offshore call centre. Seems to be a new version of an old scam.
