SCAM / SPAM A recorded robotic voice says it's HMRC fraud line & if you don't press 1 action will be taken and a fraud case will be started against you. Clearly dubious but I thought I would play it out. When I pressed 1 an Asian lady answered when I asked her to pitch her scam she accused me of calling her and hang up, tried number again unobtainable. As I deal with my elderly father's calls, I imagine they were expecting a vulnerable old man that they could work a scam on.

The call was from Specsavers reminding me about appointment the following day. nI think this is a very odd system, why not send a text.
Call only ever shows up on my mobile as a missed call, never any ring tone.
Common scam, prolific even. Big giveaway, Social Security numbers are an American thing, not UK.
