Didn t answer as I ve adopted a policy of not answering calls I don t recognise, especially if they start 084 ... I assume it s PPI as others have said. It s just SO annoying that I even have to look at my phone before answering! I can remember the days when you could answer with confidence.
This was a bogus call claiming to be from HMRC - UK Tax office says fraud had been detected. I was called 2 times - the first time after a prerecorded warning message that if i did not follow instructions I would be arrested for fraud, I was transferred to music on hold and an american voice telling me "my custom was important and to please hold". eventually answered by what i would suspect was someone in the indian sub continent.
