Tried to take a Barclays payment and send a text asking me to confirm, SCAM

He called me on 26/02/2023 from 17.00 on wards every 20 minutes or so till 20.00 hours i disconnected the. then around 15.00 hours he started calling again silent all the time this went on for 10 calls the i did not pick so blocked my land line by leaving phone off hook. Leaving un able to make receive calls.

SCAM making out to be a Television Repair Insurance company. Very persistent when you tell them that you haven’t got one. They also know your address and try to say they’ll take money from your account. I didn’t give any details and kept saying I haven’t taken out any such item. They kept saying yes you have back in 2021 when it was free for 2 years. I said I never brought a Television then they said well you must have brought some kind of appliance then. I had a call today from a South African sounding lady, from London number 020 8089 6127 said she was calling from a company called Teabag that got my suspicions up straight away, asked to speak to me by name, so she already had my name and phone number somehow. Said that she understood, I had lost money in an investment and would I like to get it back, I asked how she got my name and phone number and she immediately hung up. This is obviously a scam,
Researching this number I suspect it to be scammers who purport to work for Insulate Scotland. They claim to require access to your loft to inspect the air quality and insulation. Already on my blocked list after calling me a few times. SCAM

Bot first spoke saying quotScottish Power are trying to contact you press 1 to talk to an advisorquot I press 1 then some Indian woman asks for my full name and address I say that Im not comfortable giving my address over the phone like that they didnt even say why they were calling then they put me on hold then hung up on me Its either 1 a scam or 2 a bad organisation doing dirty work for Scottish Power Either way theyre untrustworthy and should be avoided

This is NOT a Northern Irish number, there are not enough digits in it. N Irish numbers are in the format of 028 xxxx xxxx
Scam advising money coming out of account and to press 1 to speak with advisor
Claimed to be from HMRC threatening legal action or something unless I pressed '1' to speak to a human operator. Likely scam as this number does not appear to be in use by the HMRC. Fraud SCAM
I answered the call on the second ring - sounded like an automated call - I heard the word Chinese but everything else was gobbledegook to me. I hung up as I assume its another scammer.
