keeps calling me saying that they are my internet provider and saying that i am going to get cut of and to find out more to press 1 at wich point i put the phone down

SCAM I got an automated call supposedly from HMRC about my national insurance contributions and that I hadn't paid enough. To speak to someone about this I was to press a number on the keypad. As this is an ordinary mobile number I had suspected that this was a scam and the person would be wanting my details.
This number called me today. When I picked up the phone I didn't say anything and waited for them to speak first. Nothing but silence then automatically hangs up after 5 seconds. Got number by dialing 1471, tried to return call but apparently number doesn't exist. How can it not exist after no more than 10 seconds from phoning me!
