Just received a call from this number, a female with an American accent, who wanted to ask a few questions (a survey, not selling anything). Asked where she got my number (we are with TPS) and she said BT. I explained there s no way BT would give out (or sell) a number registered with TPS. I explained it s illegal to coldcall TPS-registered numbers. I asked if she was calling from the US, she said no, it s a UK company but the call is being made from an offshore address. I said goodbye.

Called our TPS registered number. When informed of this said they weren t members of that scheme. I just ended the call. My gut feeling is that it s some type of scam.
Called twice in two days, claimed to be named "Alice" the first time (unlikely, given her heavy Indian accent), claimed to be from BT Openreach. We use a VOIP system so I put the phone down. Second time, gave no name but claimed to be calling from "[y]our electricity provider". Trying to send information about funeral plans, this happens a day after my Dad passed away. That call I feel was inappropriate, I know it is something that is going to happen to us all at some point but to cold call is wrong. Thank goodness I answered the call and not my Mum!
