I didn't recognise the number so let it go to answerphone, at which point the caller rang off without leaving a message. Probably a SCAM or SPAM call (we get lots).
SCAM - Pretending to be carphone warehouse. Called twice now. The first time I asked how they got my number, and they said my current phone provider gave it to them. When I told them that can't be true as my company doesn't work with carphone warehouse they hung up. The second time I asked how they got it and they hung up instantly.
Scam
Scumbag company recently fined ?50,000 for breaching Telephone Preference Company guidelines stating people who opted out of marketing calls (a little like opting out of junk mail). They breached it and were busted. Avoid. They are using a North East number (0191) but are from Halifax, West Yorkshire.
They said they were the HMRC and that it was about tax fraud
Scam claiming ro be from bank fraud department. Automated computer voice.
SCAM - didn't answer, got left a voicemail in a robotic voice stating it was HMRC and I was about to be arrested?? lol no.
Window company trying to sell windows, blocked number but they still try and call.
