I am moving from BT because of horrific service. I received a short automated message from BT - stating that they were taking over my line. I called to query this. The guy who answered verified my number, but it was not my number. I told him it was not mine and he abruptly hung up. I called back - the second call handler couldn’t understand the situation and became annoyed and hung up. My phone rung again and it was a scam call centre from abroad offering to cover my washing machine but I was to pay today.
SPAM Came up as suspected spam on my phone, so I didn't answer.
Called to say as I had not claimed under my boiler insurance my premiums were being reduced. As I don’t have my boiler insured presume this is a scam.
I haven’t answered this call yet as I tend to not answer calls where I don’t recognise the number - I figure if it’s important they’ll leave a voicemail. I was getting consistent calls from another number in the same area as this one which I blocked yesterday, and now today I’ve already had two calls from this number in the same area. The number called me and rang for some time which is a characteristic of spam calls. After checking on W C M I rang back the number but just went dead another characteristic of spam calls. If they ring again I will answer and update who it is using this number

Just social engineering to scare you and get your money. Do not answer this phone number although it wont be long in service. Scammers probably sit somewhere in India or East-Europe.
