Pretending to be from BT about broadband, sounded busy call centre abroad, wanting the "owner of broadband" to speak to them urgently. Would not answer any my questions and when I mentioned scam I got a load of foul abuse before I hung up.

Asian bloke- as others - say I am due refund of bank charges from government - told him he was probably committing fraud - he then told me to stop wasting his time and hung up!! Then had another just now - this time a woman she said hello and I replied and she hung up

Rang the number back from a landline and it goes straight to a vmail. It requests that you hold the line before being transferred. At no point did they give a clue as to who or what they are.

Checked here before answering, I'm unsure but a lot say a website selling company, Im a web designer and have put myself out there on linkedin for jobs, so they're either offering me a job or selling me a website.
Asks for a Mr Campbell who is not now nor has ever been known at this number. Very petulant when asked to remove my number from their database.

so sick of these people ringing me several times a day, from different numbers but same area code. I never answer the house phone, as no-one I know has the number, so you would think they, d give up.
Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Similar numbers are reported as a telemarketing - scam PPI calls. Did someone answer any number of this range? Is there any reason why companies use line with shared costs for just ringing you and left no message (other than scam...)? If this was a silent call for you, do not call back for any reason!
