Called today. Recorded voice claiming to be from my broadband provider and they will be terminating my service due to suspicious traffic. Unable to disconnect the call till I had pressed the disconnect button several times and even after the voice stopped an obvious line was still open even though I could dial. If they call you ensure you have cleared the call before calling your Internet provider or use a different phone so they don't record your details.
The number is a scam. It's registered to Frank Fairhead & Son motor services and they were dissolved in 2011.

Automated message when you pick up that says ive avoided tax of some sort and that I need to press 1 to speak to someone to avoid it going to court. After pressing 1 it just goes silent and when you call it back it just says persons phone is switched off. Im based in Wales and call is from Manchester so will assume its a scam

Got a call before 8:00 this morning, caller said my computer was sending error messages to the Microsoft server. Asked him which computer and he got excited and asked me how many I had. Told him to shove off.

SCAM A recorded message said I was being investigated for tax fraud and a criminal case was being made against me. All my tax affairs are completely in order. I was instructed to press one to find out more which of course I ignored. I am extremely angry about this call which was quite upsetting - when life is difficult enough at the moment.
I just missed a call from this number glad I didn't answer. I don't know anyone in Wigan either!
