REALLY HALIFAX. IGNORE THE PEOPLE SAYING THIS IS A SCAM THEY ARE 100% WRONG. Turns out my emergency credit card had a fraudulent payment on it. I’ve never used the card so Halifax must have leaked my details, which is highly worrying. We were telephoned 3 times between approx 6 - 7pm on Thurs 29/11/2012. They did not leave messages which made me suspicious. I dialled 1471 and Googled. They appear to be in Preston, Lancashire. I am a pensioner caring for my parents who share dementia and Alzheimer?s. We do not want unwelcomed strangers calling our home. Can something be done, please? Thank you kindly.

This number has called us over 15 times in the last week, each time it is a different person giving very generic names. They are all following a script and say that someone on this number has had an accident. We are a business and nobody has had an accident - we have informed the callers on numerous occasions to remove us from their call list but this still has not happened.
SCAM . . . . . starts with a text "Where are you? I'm waiting for you". If you reply you will be marked down as a 'responder' and active with replying to texts (or even worse, possibly phone calls). Simply ignore it and block the number.

I received several calls from a company called UK Energy Council Utility working on behalf of National Grid. They said that I was basically being overcharged by my current suppliers and asked me for my bill to obtain the supply number. They were very inquisitive seeking information that should have been known. I did not provide the information as they appeared dodgy. I was then told that I should continue to be ripped of by my current suppliers.
