01223 368203 called me this morning (9:04 on Saturday 13th June 2020). My Samsung smartphone stated that the automatic caller ID was "Cambridge Joining Technology Limited". I'm not in the trade and don't know anyone from Cambridge, but answered anyway. A male text-to-speech voice read a message that said that it was HMRC calling and I'd need to press 1 otherwise I would be fined £1,000 or something like that. I knew that this was a scam but pressed 1 to speak to a human. Got through to som
Multiple, daily calls regarding payment protection insurance, which I have never purchased. Pre-recorded message. Pressing 9 for automated opt-out has no effect. Extremely persistent and annoying.
Rang twice, left a voicemail, sounded like a call centre with the end of the call going to a hold music tone. No actual message was left.
SCAM - after a pause connecting to an automated system, a digitised voice announces that you are subject to HMRC Fraud and a warrant will be issue for your arrest unless you press #1 to connect...
