Rang my phone numerous times last night around 11:30 - 12:00 beleive it to be a scam as no reputable company wouldd phone at stupid o'clock

I have managed to confirm that calls from this number are from a company debt management company called Stephenson Drake (www.stevensondrake.com. They operate by automated cold calling your number. You will either hear silence or a message asking if you are having problems with debt. If you press 5 to speak to someone then you are cut off BUT your number is stored and you will receive a follow up call from them. Said he was from Domestic and General asked for my name, and then said he could not hear me could I give it again which I did. I had cancelled a insurance with D & G and thought they were ring to make me change my name. He then asked for the first name of my address and post code, and again said he couldn t hear me and asked me to repeat it again. This is when I got suspicious and hung up. I rang D & G and they apparently do not keep a record of outgoing cals.

Suspected spam/scam call, did not answer.

Claimed to be from BT and said did we know our hub needed updating and would need daily adjustment...sounded like a caller from India.

They keep calling me, in the states. I thought it might be business or a friend, but just a gent with an Indian accent starting a pitch. I think the "block" feature on my android should be on all phones, then these fellows will have to work for a living. Nice story, the one above "Manchester".

NEVER call unknown numbers back as you may be calling a Premium Rate or International number masked by a spoofed number which will be a very expensive call.
